Hiking and Walking Trails
The trails in Tibbits Park are well-used year-round. They are a great place for walking, hiking, or taking a nature walk with the family. There are five trails in the park, varying in length and difficulty level. The trail with the easiest slope is the one that runs by the north side of the park. The trail on the west side of the park is slightly steeper. The two trails on the east side of the park are quite steep. The trails are great for walking, but not for strollers, as there are a few spots where it is difficult to navigate with a stroller. If you are hiking, be sure to wear appropriate footwear as the trails are uneven, and there are some spots where you may have to climb over logs or rocks. The trails in Tibbits Park have many beautiful features including native wildflowers in the spring, a large oak tree that is hundreds of years old, and a ravine that is home to many birds and animals.
Splash Pad
The splash pad is open daily, beginning the second weekend in June and closing in early September. The splash pad is operated by a computer that turns water on and off every 15 minutes so that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy it and stay safe. The splash pad is a great place to cool off on hot days. There is also an area where you can sunbathe or relax in a hammock. There is also a shaded seating area nearby where you can relax if you don’t want to get wet. Parents, please note that the splash pad is not supervised, so young children should be supervised by an adult at all times. - Continue Reading This
